The cool thing about winter on the Parkway is that the only traffic is on foot. Snow was being forecast for the mountains and being the fool I am to see some snow, I took off for an overnighter on the Parkway.

The snow as about 5 inches of powdery stuff which melted off the next day. Not much in terms of ‘snow’ photos but the fog made for some interesting images.

Instead of a tent, I decided on just a tarp. With so much moisture just floating around and later some rain during the night, the condensation in the tent soaked the camera gear and everything else. I stayed dry and toasty in my Wiggy sleeping bag. The Nikon D200 is a great wet weather camera.

Driving through all the snow and slush on the way up, I had nary a slide, yet on the way home I managed to find trouble and get my Honda stuck. It was at that moment I had dreams of a 4WD vehicle dancing in my head. As much as I hate Suncom, I actually had cell coverage to call the tow truck!

I still hate Suncom. http://www.wiggys.comshapeimage_12_link_0
